Volunteer Program Information

Who can volunteer?

To be approved for our volunteer program, you must be 18 years of age or older. Due to liability constraints, we do not accept volunteers requiring high school community service hours or court-appointed volunteer credit. Please also note that while incredibly rewarding and fun, volunteering can be physically demanding.

How do I apply?

To join our team, you need to complete a volunteer application and attend an orientation class. We are currently accepting volunteers for dog walking and handling our shelter dogs and cats. Class registration opens at the beginning of each month, click below to register!

When and where are classes?

Orientation classes are held in the Education Room, located directly across from the main entrance of the shelter. Classes typically take 1–2 hours to complete. Please check the class registration portal for specific times. Note: We do not currently require or schedule a specific minimum number of volunteer hours.
