Humane Association of Warren County
A Legacy of Compassion
Your support helps ensure that every animal who comes through our doors receives the medical care, nutritious food, and dignified shelter they deserve. Together, we provide a vital lifeline for pets in need throughout our community.
Many our most dedicated supporters choose to give in a lasting way by including a gift in their will. This powerful gesture creates a permanent legacy of love, protecting animals for generations to come.
Other Ways to Support
Discover additional meaningful ways to leave a lasting impact on animals in our care through simple, non-cash giving options.
Donate Appreciated Stocks
Stocks and mutual funds that have increased in value and have been held for more than one year are one of the most popular ways to support the Humane Association of Warren County.
Benefits of Donating Appreciated Stocks
- Avoid capital gains taxes on assets held for more than one year
- Receive a charitable deduction based on the full fair-market value at the time of the gift
- Experience the satisfaction of helping provide care and support for abused, neglected, and homeless pets
Please consult your advisor for guidance on your specific situation.
IRA Giving
If you are age 70½ or older, you can support the Humane Association of Warren County through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). This type of gift allows you to contribute directly to a qualified nonprofit organization.
Benefits of Donating from Your IRA
- Individuals age 70½ and older are required to take annual distributions from their IRA
- A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows you to donate all or part of that distribution directly to a nonprofit
- The donated amount is not included in your taxable income, which may reduce taxes
- This applies whether or not you itemize deductions
Important Timing
To make a gift for the current tax year, you will need to contact your IRA representative in advance so they can process the distribution and send it directly to the Humane Association of Warren County before the end of the year.
Please consult your advisor for guidance on your specific situation.
Fur-Ever Friends
Many supporters who choose to leave a gift also want to ensure their beloved pets are cared for in the future. While placement with a trusted friend or family member is often ideal, that isn’t always possible.
A Plan for Your Pet’s Future
The Humane Association of Warren County offers the Fur-Ever Friends Program, a pet guardianship program that provides peace of mind.
- Ensure your pet has a safe place to go
- Trusted care if you are no longer able to provide it
- Support in finding a loving new home
Why It Matters
You can feel confident knowing your companion will be cared for with compassion, dignity, and love—no matter what the future holds.
Please consult your advisor for guidance on your specific situation.
